I’ll be speaking at the Town Hall speaker series in Cleveland Ohio on October 26, 2009. The presentation is titled, “Cowboys, Spacemen, Global Warming and a Theory of Almost Everything.” The hour-long presentation presents my views on the cultural shift that is happening today in our country, coupled with overviews of planning and legal history governing natural resources. I argue that decisions we have made – which have made sense based on cultural norms prevalent at a given time — govern our financial, economic, environmental and social conditions. Today these conditions are in peril, and we are in a race to change the cultural paradigms in time to re-energize our society. Yet there is great hope for the days ahead.
