A short article about what we are trying to do at DC Water to both communicate more effectively with our customers about the work and costs that we face, and the value of that work to them on a personal level. We have no illusions about the scale of what lies before us – with more than a decade of anticipated rate increases. Yet we also know of the fundamental value of this work, and the remarkable bargain that clean water is to our customers – given the scale and expense of what we undertake on their behalf. We can always do more and always improve, but it is gratifying to gain a kind word upon occasion.
